- How did you first get into Passive House?

My company has always been passionate about building highly energy-efficient homes, understanding Passive House standards for insulation and air tightness have helped us to achieve our high-performance goals. A few years ago, we became members of Passive House Maine to learn more about the standard, to be involved more involved with the local high-performance building community, and to support Passive House Maine! The message is so important.

- What's your favorite part about working in Passive House?

I love problem-solving, figuring out how to make something happen and meet the project goals is fun! But, what I really love is how surprised and happy clients are once they move into their finished homes. The pleasure of living in a comfortable home with no cold spots, low energy bills and with great indoor air quality isn't something you can describe to someone, it has to be experienced.

- What's your favorite song to listen to while working?

I like David Bowie, 70s, 80's, 90's alternative. Also, a lot of the songs I didn't like growing up, it's fun to sing along with them because I know all of the lyrics, which is pretty funny.

I first heard about PH at a bachelor party in Copenhagen at 3am in the morning back in 2007. I then got in touch with Katrina and Mike at PHIUS, got some training, and never looked back.
