To our members and friends,

Since our last spring appeal in 2023, phME has shifted and grown–it’s an exciting moment for our organization. Our membership continues to grow, with over 200 individuals and organizations joining up to support climate-sensitive building in Maine. Thanks to our many trainings around the state, we’ve added more than 100 new student and enthusiast members. Speaking of which, phME has hosted roughly 20 training sessions in places like Orono, Machias, Fort Kent, Freeport and Lewiston over the last year, making this the busiest yet for our training team.

We’ve also added new staff, thanks in part to our successful BuildingsUP grant application. With our trainings program manager Randy, our program director Dori, and our new BuildingsUP/retrofitMAINE director Mika, we’re well staffed to continue this robust expansion. In 2024, we’re reaching out to more Mainers than ever, with $25 training events, our series of lectures and talks, and networking events. And that’s not to mention our ongoing legislative work, coalition building and broadcast promotion for low-carbon building.

Help us to reach our 2024 spring appeal goals this year and join the campaign to make Maine buildings healthy, resilient and sustainable!

Because of your donations, we’re able to:

  • Hold state-wide training sessions on passive building principles, home retrofitting, and Maine building codes

  • Share information, new processes, and passive house technologies

  • Organize and encourage local and state legislators to undertake policy reform

  • Lead seminars, workshops, site-walks and events to disseminate new skills and knowledge

  • And loudly advocate for passive building, passive designers architects, builders and producers, and encourage our partners and other changemakers
