To our partners, members + supporters

Our 'Women Building Maine day-long training in 2024.

passivhausMAINE has had an extraordinary year of strengthening and growing. As we round out the year, we’re acknowledging a shift in the political landscape which will impact the way we fund the work we do, and at the same time simply continuing our work.

Mika is registering households for our retrofit initiative pilot – do you know someone in Freeport or Lewiston who would be interested? Randy is focused on expanding our training curricula for upcoming two-day intensive courses. In addition to shaping up February’s 12th Annual Forum – our yearly gathering of extended stakeholders from across Maine and New England – Dori is working with Randy to develop a pre-apprentice program and summer camp series for younger people.

I have been working intensively with our development team to expand our financial partnerships. I spend much of my time with our collaborative partners who do very similar work in New England, in the Maritimes, in California, and Great Britain and continental Europe.

passivhausMAINE and retrofitMAINE provide inspiration and are in turn inspired by the work we see. Retrofit and policy work that encourages a robust building, cost savings to Mainers and carbon reduction. We’ve been in every corner of the state, filling classes with lifelong learners.

We’re looking forward with optimism and determination and hope you will help support us in this work.

- $50 covers a home visit of our energy coach to a retrofit prospect.

- $300 would cover an audit of one of our retrofit projects in Lewiston and Freeport.

- $1,000 would contribute greatly to annual phME operations.

But a contribution of any amount reinforces and encourages our work while also reminding us of all our supporters.

We are grateful to work with architects, builders, engineers and developers, owners and renters, other nonprofits and businesses to educate and actualize better buildings across the State of Maine and beyond!
